Wendy Carria, licensed and nationally certified
school psychologist provides a variety of
services to youth, from preschool to college age.
I bring 20 years of experience conducting
    comprehensive psycho-educational testing and
counseling young people, as well as providing
    consultation to parents and teachers.

I received my undergraduate degree from Athens
State College (now Athens State University),
Alabama and my graduate degree from George
Mason University, Virginia .  I have maintained
    national certification in school psychology,
awarded by the National Association of School
Psychology (NASP), throughout my career.  I
maintain memberships in NASP, the Virginia
    Psychological Association, Academy of School
    Psychologists (VPA, VASP), the American
    Psychological Association (APA),  and Children
    and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder (CHADD).   I am a certified trainer of
    the  "QPR-Question, Persuade, and Refer"
suicide prevention program and am a member of
the Virginia Department of Health Suicide
Prevention Stakeholders Committee.  I have also
been a participant of VA-HELP, the Virginia
Higher Education Leadership Partners, a group
whose mission is to lower the barriers that
students with disabilities face as they transition
to post-secondary settings.  Most importantly,  I
have two daughters and two sons, all adults, whom
I credit with the largest part of my education
about growing up in this century.

In addition to working in private practice, I
continue to work full time within the public
schools in Arlington, Virginia.  I enjoy supporting
children, teens, and parents as they work toward
educational success.  At times, the focus is on
academic abilities, but may also include social
skills and academic self-concept.  Areas of
particular interest are assessment, advocacy, and
the process of seeking accommodations in post-
    secondary settings.

    3400, mlkrass@aol.com

I provide play therapy and talk therapy for kids
and teens.  I work with kids having a range of
    challenges, including Asperger's Disorder,
ADHD, eating concerns, anxiety, phobias and
    depression.

I also work with their parents to develop
behavior plans that are tailored to their child's
personality and the family's "culture."  My work
with parents focuses on making sense of their
child and the problematic behaviors they might
display so as to best address both their child's
and the family's needs. In addition, I often speak
to parent and teacher groups on a variety of
topics having to do with special needs children,
    teens and related parenting issues.
