Dr. Callahan received his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the Children's National Medical Center and continued there as a fellow in pediatric cardiology from 1993-1996. He also completed an additional year of fellowship training in pediatric and fetal echocardiography from 1996-1997. After completing his training, Dr. Callahan joined a private practice pediatric cardiology group in Dallas, Texas, where he remained for three years. He returned to Washington, D.C. to become Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Callahan is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in the fetus and child, with an expertise in echocardiography. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Callahan enjoys spending his free time with his wife and four daughters, and enjoys landscaping. Specialty: Pediatric Cardiology & Fetal Echocardiography James D. Telep, MD Dr. Telep is a graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He continued his training in Philadelphia at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where he completed both his internship and residency in pediatrics. Dr. Telep then moved to the Washington, D.C. area for his fellowship training in pediatric cardiology at George Washington University’s Children’s National Medical Center. During that time, Dr. Telep spent extensive time training in cardiac MRI, fetal echocardiography, and interventional cardiac catheterization of children and adults with congenital heart disease. Dr. Telep spent a year at the National Institutes of Heath, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute where he researched performing cardiac catheterizations under MRI guidance. He has presented this research at international conferences and published in major cardiac publications. Dr. Telep is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Telep also has the unique firsthand knowledge of living with congenital heart disease, making pediatric cardiology both a personal and professional passion. In his spare time, Dr. Telep enjoys spending time with his family, skiing and sailing. Specialty: Pediatric Cardiology &Fetal Echocardiography; Cardiac Catheterization Harish S. Rudra, DO Dr. Rudra received his bachelors degree at the University of Virginia and his medical degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He retuned home to the Northern Virginia area to complete his internship and residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children. He subsequently graduated in 2009 from Northwestern University – Children’s Memorial Hospital pediatric cardiology fellowship program. Dr. Rudra’s areas of interest include general non-invasive pediatric cardiology and preventative pediatric cardiology. He has performed research in the long-term surgical outcomes of infants and children who have undergone the arterial switch operation for D-Transposition of the great arteries. Dr. Rudra is board certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric cardiology. In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing with his friends and family as well as being an ardent follower of the University of Virginia sports teams. Specialty: Pediatric Cardiology
