Our Mission  The Washington Group Special
Care Planning Team’s mission is to help make a
positive difference in the lives of individuals
with special needs, their caregivers, and other
    family members.  Our knowledgeable and
dedicated Special Care Planners, many of whom
focus on this field because of close ties to
Special Needs individuals in their own lives,
    assist families with developing valuable
    financial strategies, and creating strategic
    financial solutions that integrate with
    Government programs and other community
    supports.  Through our network of
    organizations, professionals, and specialists, we
can provide appropriate referrals to further
assist families with their unique situations.  We
also help coordinate family education and
    communication.

    Why Special Needs Planning?

If you care for a person with a disability or
other special needs, it’s important that you
look beyond their medical care attention and
the help you provide on a day-to-day basis.
How you prepare for their financial well being
    – and yours as well – will make a tremendous
difference in your lifestyle now and when you
are no longer caring for your loved one.  Our
Special Care Planners will work with you and
    your advisors (banker, accountant, lawyer,
social worker, etc.) to review your financial
picture and offer options that make sense for
your situation.  Your financial analysis will
take into consideration benefits such as
Medicaid or Supplemental Security Income so
they aren’t jeopardized.  We also have an
    extensive network of organizations,
professionals, and specialists, from which we
are able to provide appropriate referrals.

    Credentials

Our Special Care Planning Team members have
received advanced training and information in
estate and tax planning concepts, special needs
trusts, government programs, and the emotional
dynamics of working with people with
disabilities and other special needs and their
families.  Planners have a Chartered Special
    Needs Consultant (ChSNC) designation from
The American College or the Special Care
    Planner designation.
