"I have taken my son (who is on the spectrum) to
several nuerologists in the area, including Drs.
Edelstein and Pearl. We saw them for a rare and
aggressive type of elipepsy before the autism
diagnosis. Dr. Edelstein has a wonderful manner,
is very optimistic in the face uncertainty, and
most of all is unbelievably available given
doctors these days -- even gives her personal cell
out to patients (we have called it several times on
weekend and nights and she always answers).   I
found Dr. Pearl to be a brilliant nuerologist, even
compared to other very smart neurologists. We
came to him because nothing was working to help
with my son's seizures (described by Edelstein
as the pediatric neurologist that other
neurologists send their kids to). I found Dr.
Pearl to be someone who has a lot of knowledge
about newer (though not necessarily better)
medications and treatments - we went to him
because we wanted something out of the ordinary
since no typical treatments were working. He was
either very brilliant or we were very lucky
(probably both) in that he put us on an unusual
and very aggressive treatment that no other
doctor had suggested and it managed to finally
control my son's seizures.   I recommend both,
though I went with seizure issues -- but they are
very different doctors. We still see both,
because Edelstein involves almost no wait."
