MCASA Parent Support Group Meetings

Our Parent Support Group meets the second
Thursday of every month from 7:30 to 9:00
p.m. at the Twinbrook Recreational Center,
12920 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville 20851
during the school year and follows MCPS
inclement weather closings. We do not meet
during the summer.

Sibshops

The Arc of Montgomery County, in conjunction
with Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital and
Abilities Network, will once again be hosting
Sibshops.  Sibshops is a program in which
siblings of children with special needs have the
opportunity to meet and interact with other children
in the same situation.  The program is designed
for siblings who are 8-13 years old.  The program
meets one Sunday per month from 1-5 pm, in the
conference room at The Arc of Montgomery
County at 11600 Nebel Street, Rockville, MD
20852.

The program will meet on Sept 7th, Oct 5th, Nov
9th, and Dec 7th 2008.

The cost for all four sessions is $32 for four
sessions* (Please attend all four sessions).

CHADD of Montgomery County, Maryland
offers a variety of programs to support you in
learning more about AD/HD.  Montgomery
County CHADD chapter offers:

* speaker meetings
* a parent/guardian support group,
* adult support group,
* a workplace support group, and
* Parent to Parent - Family Training on AD/HD

Date: Speaker meetings are held on the fourth
Wednesday of each month
EXCEPT November, December 2008 (due to
holidays.)

Time: 7:15 Meeting registration and social
7:30 Speaker program
followed by discussion and informal support.

Expressive Therapy Center, LLC, is a mental
health agency that offers individual, couples, group
and family therapy as well as psychological/
psycho-educational testing.  We offer a wide array
of social skills and support groups for all ages,
including social skills groups for kids with
autism/aspergers and other special needs.
Groups use art and movement therapy as well as
traditional therapeutic approaches.  ETC has
offices in Rockville, Chevy Chase, and McLean,
Virginia.  We have a team of 12 clinicians with
various backgrounds, experiences, and licensure,
and can accommodate most families' needs.

Parent/Guardian support meetings are held

Workplace Support Group  is facilitated by  
August Spector, Ed.D., who coordinates the
discussion and provide information, which can be
of help to participants. These meetings are held
